A Trip on the Train

Andrew has loved trains for a while now. We went on our first train trip today! We took the train from Irvine to San Juan Capistrano, 15 minutes. He was excited to see real train tracks and a real train. Once we got on and the train started to move, he had a confused look on his face but began to enjoy it. We stopped at Zoomars Petting Zoo and then had lunch before we came back home to Irvine. It was a fun family day!

Andrew and Daddy looking at the train tracks.

Waiting patiently for the train.

Amtrak!
Riding on the train with Mommy.

Watching the train speed away.

Feeding the Guinea Pigs.

Andrew was thrilled to feed the Guinea Pigs and Rabbits! He would chase them until they took the carrot from him.

Petting the goats. He kept giggling at all the goats begging for food.

Andrew talking to the goat. "Hey man, I think your goat buddy is over there."

We got to watch the train go by as we ate lunch.

Back on the train with Daddy. Andrew was exhausted.

What a fun day! "Bye-Bye!"

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

As much as we love the rain, it's time that it goes away. 5 straight day of being stuck inside is hard to take. I think we've watched every Blue's Clues and Curious George episode made. When there was a break in the rain for a few hours we went outside for a walk. As any boy would, Andrew headed straight toward the mud and puddles....

For a boy that doesn't like to have his hands dirty, he was very interested in the mud!

This was just the beginning. At the end, his entire pants and shoes were soaked.

"Look at the long trail of mud! Got a lot of ground to cover, let's get going!"

On the way back to the car he found the puddle at the end of the slide. At least it washed all the mud off. Gotta love rainy days!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Andrew helped with his first batch of chocolate chip cookies. I've been making these cookies since I was little so it was really fun to have Andrew join in the fun! He helped poor in the flour, sugar, chocolate chips, and even helped crack the eggs. We enjoyed eating some of the chocolate chips. Once the mixer turned on he said, "All done. Loud noise." I guess he doesn't like the sound of the mixer. After watching them bake in the oven, we enjoyed some of the "Andrew-made" cookies. Yum! Yum!
