Graduation 2008

Happy Graduation!! Yes, I finally finished my masters in Education Reading. It was a long 3 years but well worth it. I must thank some of the people that helped me along the way. My husband, for taking a lot of time to "babysit" on weekends and come home early from work. And for all the support emotionally and financially :-). To my son for letting me be away a couple nights a week and weekends the first year of your life. To Karen, for babysitting once a week for a year. To my dad, for instilling in me the importance of an education. I could not have done this without all of you! Woopie!! I'm done with school....FOREVER! And just a reminder, I am the most educated person in my family.

Yea Mommy!

Check out the CSUF shirt! Titan spirt!!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! For Mother's Day we went over to my parents and had a nice BBQ. The men did all the cleaning. What a nice treat! I have to say that I am so blessed not only to have had an amazing mom but also stepmom. How many people get two wonderful mother figures in their life? I'm also not only blessed with one amazing mother-in-law, but two. Again, how many people get that opportunity? To all the "mothers" in my life, thank you for being an inspiration to me and teaching me what it's like to be a wonderful mother! I love you!

Andrew and Mommy sharing special time.

Hugs for Mommy!

Zoomars Petting Zoo

We went to a petting zoo called Zoomars down in San Juan Capistrano. Andrew had a BLAST chasing all the bunnies and guinea pigs. Once he caught up with them, he was able to pet a few and even feed some. We will definitely be going back!

Petting the brave bunny.

We went with a few friends, the O'Connells (Kendra and Drew) and Ty Swanson. Look how brave Kendra is holding her own guinea pig.

Some bunnies would come right up asking for food.

We also took a little train ride around and around and around the track.

The other part of the petting zoo had goats. Andrew thought it was so fun being in the playhouse with a goat.

Our New "Backyard"

We don't have a real backyard but our 6 by 6 foot patio will make do. Andrew has been enjoying his new sandbox and water table. Hopefully this will create hours of fun during the hot summer months. We love being outside so it's a great place for us.

Play Time with Daddy

Andrew was having a blast with Daddy. He thought it was so fun to be lifted into the air in the plastic tub. These are the moments you cherish forever.

Sunday Brunch

We went to Sunday Brunch at the St. Regis in Dana Point during the birthday weekend. What person (and a 1 year old for that matter) celebrates their birthday by going to Disneyland, having a party, and then going to a St. Regis brunch?? Too bad he won't remember any of it.
Our family enjoying a beautiful day together.

Uncle John, Granddi, Mommy, Daddy, Andrew, Grandma, and Grandpa.

"I liked having Aunt Lynn here from Pittsburgh. She carried me all over and showed me all the neat stuff."

Thanks for coming to visit Aunt Lynn! Andrew felt instant comfort with you. By the look of this picture, you better watch out...Andrew is going to be bigger than you next time you see him.

Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Andrew's first birthday with a bunch of family and friends at our neighborhood park. The kids had a fun time playing and eating pizza and cake. Even though it was a big celebration, I'm pretty sure Andrew didn't have a clue that all these people were there for him. What a lucky guy to be loved by so many. Happy 1st Birthday Andrew!! After singing Happy Birthday with an unlit cake (it was too windy), Andrew wouldn't touch the cake. Not even a single lick of frosting. Where does this kid come from??

Olivia giving a big smile to the camera.

Gianna says, "Andrew, if you don't want the cake then I'll eat it."

Great Aunt Wendy and Great Uncle Glen and Grandpa enjoying the party.

All of Andrew's uncles were there to celebrate the big day. Uncle Rick says Happy Birthday.

Great Uncle Glen, Uncle Ken, and Cousin Robert having some good conversation.

Listening to music with Grandma Patty.

The Trausch and the O'Connell families shared in the special day. What a great group of kids.

Kaili brought her parents, Amy and Brian, along for the party.

Ty had too many margaritas.

Wow! What a party! Thanks Aunt Lynn for letting him fall asleep in your arms. What a precious moment.

Later at home we continued the party and opened all the presents.

Happy 1st Birthday Andrew Joseph Goodman!!

Happy 1st Birthday Andrew!

Andrew woke up with a balloon in his room on his first birthday. Balloons are one of his favorite things right now. He is usually fussy when he wakes up but once he saw that balloon the smiles were on. We went to Disneyland to celebrate the big day. We had a good time as usual, but it was HOT! To end the day, Andrew had his first birthday cake. Well, he actually didn't have any of it. He wouldn't touch the cake so Dad ate most of it. He thought the fire on top of the cake was sure fascinating. We had a great and memorable 1st birthday! Waking up to find a birthday balloon in his room. Happy Birthday big guy!

Yaaaawn!

Happy Birthday to you...Andrew's first birthday cake.

Reading

Andrew still loves to "read" his books. He can sit and look at books longer than any other toy he has. As you can tell by the picture he still doesn't have the hang of which way the book goes.

Uncle Johnny

Andrew has the privilege of being a nephew to 4 uncles (no aunts). Uncle Johnny, Rob's brother, came to visit the other day. As you can tell Andrew enjoyed sitting next to Uncle Johnny.

My First Angel Game

The Angel season has begun! We still have our season tickets and this year Andrew gets to join in on the fun. We took him to his first game. We tailgated for about an hour and then stayed at the game for about an hour. That was all he could take. Hopefully over time he'll learn to love going to the games like we do.
On the way to the big game. Dressed in all his Angel gear.

Tailgating with Daddy eating his Cheerios.

Go Angels!

"Woopie! That was fun! Let's do it again."

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! Our family went to church in the morning and then enjoyed a nice dinner together. Andrew seemed to enjoy his first Easter. He was excited to see the Easter basket with all the goodies the Easter Bunny left him. He was fascinated that inside his eggs were surprises like Cheerios, Puffs, and Gold Fish. Wow! How does the Easter Bunny know exactly what he likes? It sure is fun being a parent! We hope you enjoyed your Easter with your family and gave thought to why we celebrate this holiday. At church, in his fancy Easter outfit.

Outside enjoying the beautiful weather and looking at all the plants and ants.

Andrew got his very own bunny and gave it lots of love.

"Ahh, look at all the stuff the Easter Bunny left me in my basket!"

Happy Easter from the Goodmans!

Egg Hunt

We had a couple egg hunts this year. One was with the mom's group at a park. Andrew didn't do much "hunting" so I plopped him down in front of a few eggs. He picked them up and shook them. Who cares what's inside, it was more interesting that they made noise.

Trouble!

Trouble, trouble trouble. That is what Andrew seems to love to create. Now that he is more mobile he is able to explore and get into things he's not supposed to. He loves to play with the dishwasher door because it is slippery with water. While I had my back turned for about a minute, this is what Andrew was doing...

TV

We watch way too much TV. Andrew already knows how to work the remote! He loves "I Love Lucy" and "Ellen". He even dances when the music for "Ellen" comes on.
